Lent is a solemn religious season that begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts forty days. It is a time for preparing new believers for Baptism, and for the baptized to renew our commitment. It is the Church’s annual retreat, a time when we often add a spiritual practice to grow closer to God. What are you doing for Lent?

“I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” —Luke 15:10
Join us at SJV in praying the Divine Mercy Novena, beginning on Good Friday, April 18 and continuing for nine days through Divine Mercy Sunday, April 27.During this novena we will incorporate the daily intentions that the Lord revealed to Saint Maria Faustina in a series of revelations that she recorded in a 600-page diary.
In her diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul, Saint Maria Faustina wrote that Jesus told her:
“On each day of the novena you will bring to My Heart a different group of souls, and you will immerse them in this ocean of My Mercy. . . On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My bitter Passion, for graces for these souls”.
